Arighi Bianchi takes fundraising to new heights for the Stroke Association

A team of daredevils from family furniture store, Arighi Bianchi, took a leap of faith and took part in an unforgettable abseil at the Liverpool Cathedral, in aid of the Stroke Association.

The group of 15 staff from the store, based on The Silk Road in Macclesfield, descended a dramatic 150ft freefall drop over the main entrance of the cathedral on Saturday 2 August.

The team of adrenaline junkies, including brave sales assistants, carpet fitters and distribution centre staff, are aiming to to raise £2,000 in vital funds for the charity.

Tracey Maxwell, Sales Assistant and Charity Co-ordinator at Arighi Bianchi, said: “This was an exhilarating experience for everyone involved – there were plenty of nerves once we started
making our way along the roof, but then it became all about conquering the fear and doing our bit for a very worthy cause. We’ve had fantastic support so far from our customers and suppliers, to help us reach our fundraising target.

“We were extremely proud to support the Stroke Association for the challenge. A number of our staffs’ family members have been affected by stroke, which is why we chose to raise funds for the charity. The charity supports stroke survivors to make their best possible recovery and does a lot to raise awareness of this devastating condition.”

Laura McMullin, Regional Fundraiser at the Stroke Association, said: “The abseil is one of our most daring fundraising events of the year and we’re really grateful to the Arighi Bianchi team for choosing to support the Stroke Association. The funds raised through the abseil will help us to continue to offer vital services to stroke survivors and their families in the North West.”
