​LSH Auto in Stockport go purple this May

Staff at LSH Auto in Stockport havebeen helping to Make May Purple in support of the Stroke Association.

Throughout the month of May, the team have hosted a variety of fundraisers including a cake sale, dress purple day and taking part in the charity’s Resolution Run at Heaton Park in Manchester.

The team chose to fundraise for the Stroke Association after a member of the team was personally affected by stroke.

Tracey Grover, Customer Service at LSH Auto, said “We chose to support the Stroke Association after one of our staff member’s Grandma, whom she lives with, had a severe stroke, which has left her paralysed ever since. It has made the team want to help others as much as we can, which is why we are completing as much fundraising as possible during Make May Purple for Stroke, to raise vital funds”.

In the UK stroke is the leading cause of disability and there are 1.2 million people living with the physical and emotional after effects. The money raised through Make May Purple for Stroke will enable the charity to support many more stroke survivors regain their independence.

Sian Thomas, Regional Fundraiser at the Stroke Association, said: “Every year we help tens of thousands of stroke survivors and their families through our range of services and free helpline, but we can only do this through the generosity of people like the team at LSH Auto. Make May Purple is a fun and easy way for everyone to show their support for stroke survivors and we hope that as many people as possible will join in.

“Whether you choose to wear purple, dye your hair purple, decorate your office or school in purple, we can’t wait to see how other supporters in Stockport will Make May Purple.”
