​South Bradford Golf Club tees off for the Stroke Association

South Bradford Golf Club has raised more than £1,400 for the Stroke Association, after holding a series of fundraising events for the charity.

The events were organised by South Bradford Golf Club Lady President, Paula Kelly, who was inspired to raise funds for the Stroke Association after her mum, Shirley Wilson, had a stroke two years ago.

South Bradford Golf Club has held a number of fundraising events throughout the year in support of the Stroke Association, including a live music evening, a charity golf day, auctions, quizzes and raffles.

Paula said: “I know first-hand just how devastating stroke can be so when I was appointed Lady President, I was keen to raise as much awareness and vital funds for the Stroke Association as I could. My mum is on the road to recovery and doing amazingly well. The Stroke Association provides invaluable support to stroke survivors and their families. I am so grateful to all of our club members, friends and family for their generosity and help.”

Joanne Burr, Community and Events Fundraiser at the Stroke Association, said: “Without the efforts of fundraisers like Paula and the members of the South Bradford Golf Club, we wouldn’t be able to support the 112,300 people in Yorkshire and Humber who are currently living with the devastating effects of stroke, as well as their families and carers. We’re so grateful for them for clubbing together to support our work.”
