Upton By Chester Golf Club raises £2,000 for the Stroke Association

Upton By Chester Golf Club has raised £2,000 for the Stroke Association after holding a fundraising golf day for the charity.

The event was organised by club member and stroke survivor, Vic Piercy on Saturday 21 May. Vic was joined by Club Captain, Eric Weaver, and Club Professional, Nick Sargent, to present the cheque to Jane Fenwick, Information

Advice and Support Coordinator from the Stroke Association, on Friday 10 June.

Vic said: “I know first-hand how devastating stroke can be, so I’m keen to raise as much awareness as I can. The Stroke Association is an incredible charity and provides invaluable support to stroke survivors and their families. I am so grateful to all of our club members and friends and family for their generosity and support.”

Jane Fenwick, Information Advice & Support Coordinator at the Stroke Association, said: “Without the efforts of fundraisers like the members of Upton By Chester Golf Club, we wouldn’t be able to support the 42,000 people in the North West who are currently living with the devastating effects of stroke, as well as their families and carers.”

The Stroke Association provides an Information, Advice and Support Service and Communication Support in Chester, in partnership with Western Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group. For more information about stroke, visit stroke.org.uk or call the Helpline on 0303 3033 100.
