Press release -

Simpler and better – for our customers and for TDC Group

New strategy will over the next three years ensure our customers better connections, better solutions and better customer experiences from TDC Group. Upgrading of the cable network up to 2018 will give every other Danish household access to 1 Gbps of world-class superfast broadband. TDC Business will reduce complexity to provide simpler and better solutions. In the Danish consumer market there will be a merger of the two family brands YouSee and TDC, combining the best of both brands to establish a new and strong value proposition, with YouSee as the continuing brand. In Norway, Get will increase the deployment of superfast broadband as well as launch Get Mobil. And further ramp-up of digitisation towards 2018 will provide our customers with a complete and coherent experience across apps and web – among other things, customer service will be supplemented with the introduction of a 24-hour service to consumer and business customers.

Today, on its Capital Markets Day in London, TDC Group will launch its new strategy for the period up to 2018. The ambition is to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction in all its markets, and build a healthy and future-proof business which is simpler and better.

Better connections to customers

“Based on better connections, we will deliver better solutions, supported by better customer experiences,” says Group CEO and President Pernille Erenbjerg who is proud to announce that the TDC Group in the near future will now make the most ambitious and comprehensive upgrade ever made in the cable network in Denmark.

“We are opening a super highway of digital entertainment services, where the sky – not the speed – is the limit. Already before the end of 2017, half of all Danish households will have access to 1 Gbps speeds – 10 times faster than the political objectives for the year 2020,” says Pernille Erenbjerg, who also stresses the strengths of the company's 4G mobile network, which today is one of the best in the world.

In addition to the coming upgrade of the cable network to 1 Gbps speed, the ambition is also to offer 10 Mbps for virtually all addresses in Denmark, as well as 100 Mbps to 70 per cent of all households up to 2018.

Better solutions for consumer customers

In Norway, Get will in the near future launch Get Mobil supplemented by increased distribution of superfast broadband for the benefit of even more customers.

A key initiative in the Danish consumer market will be the merger of the two family brands YouSee and TDC, combining the best of both brands to establish a new and strong value proposition in the market. This means that Danish households in future have the best possible home connections, with access to the best entertainment and the best products – from one nationwide brand. YouSee is selected as the brand for this new offer to the customers.

“We want to give our customers the best and most relevant products and solutions in our portfolio, which meet their needs and make their daily work easier. And we will, of course, continue to develop solutions, now on one platform. Most recently, we announced that we are ready with Wi-Fi calling,” says Pernille Erenbjerg and goes on to explain that TDC will continue as a strong brand for the company’s business customers.

Business solutions significantly simplified

It is TDC Business’ ambition to deliver better and simpler solutions to its customers. In Denmark, there will be more focus on SMEs with plans to offer a broad set of new solutions as a supplement to mobile and broadband.

“Business customers can look forward to gradually simpler services from us. We will be reducing the complexity significantly, which means that we will be able to benefit from our ability to develop our product portfolio quicker, enabling us to launch new products at a faster pace while simplifying our processes,” says Pernille Erenbjerg.

Better customer experience

Over the next three years, the ambition is to enhance the level of service to improve customer experience. This will, among other things, be effected through increased digitisation of the interface with the customers, which means more online self-service options via both apps and the web.

Topping the agenda in the coming period is access to 24/7 customer service for the consumer and business customers with YouSee and TDC.

Simpler and digital business model

Based on customer needs, TDC will also carry out a general simplification of its IT systems, processes and procedures, which will reduce complexity for customers, cut internal costs and create agility.

“The decision to merge brands in the consumer market and simplify our business activities will enable us to streamline our business and the way we work considerably. It will make it easier to be a customer with us, reduce costs and also make it easier for our employees to perform at a high level,” says Pernille Erenbjerg.

Key player in Denmark

Humans have always had the need to communicate, and as a key player in Denmark for 130 years in this area, the company still has an ambition to bring people closer together.

“We connect people via technology and, of course, have a shared responsibility for a digital and technological development on which growth and productivity in society can be based. I’m proud of the fact that we are doing just that and, together with all our employees, we will continue to do so in future,” concludes Pernille Erenbjerg.
