TeXtreme® Spread Tow Fabrics now also in +/-45

Oxeon is proud to introduce its groundbreaking +α/-β variants of TeXtreme® Spread Tow Fabrics through the initial +45/-45 type. These new versions of TeXtreme® further broaden Oxeon’s capability to offer optimized Spread Tow reinforcement solutions for enabling customers to reduce weight and improve performance of their composites parts.

The new fabric-forming technology has been developed by Dr. Nandan Khokar, R&D Manager of Oxeon, and his team. This proprietary innovation enables continuous-length production of novel fabrics  by interlacing two sets of Spread Tow Tapes in different angles +α/-β, for example +45/-45, +30/-60, +50/-25 etc.. These fabrics are innovative solutions for complementing the existing 0/90 version of TeXtreme® to realize easily and quickly an optimized multidirectional reinforcement by plying.

The novel TeXtreme® Spread Tow Fabrics in +α/-β variants bring all the advantages found in the successful TeXtreme® 0/90 fabric. Improved mechanical performance, weight saving possibilities, good handling ability, flatness and surface smoothness are all combined in a continuous-length +α/-β fabric. Its balanced construction eliminates problems associated with symmetric plying of NCF and UD. With reduced labor and material wastage, the production of composites becomes efficient.
