Double award for the Thule Group in big German roof box test

The Thule Group, world leader in products that make it easy for people to transport their equipment securely, safely and in style, is pleased to announce their dual success in the just published test of “Auto und Strassenverkehr”, carried out by the German test institute Dekra. The totally new roof box Thule Dynamic swept the top award, while the innovative Thule Ranger 500 placed in the top three.

Recognised as one of the leading European organisations in vehicle inspections, expert appraisals, product testing, and certification, the German test institute Dekra is an international reference in the automotive sector. The test of roof boxes showcase the results of a comparative test Dekra conducted to evaluate the safety, mounting, usability and quality of eight roof boxes on the market.

With excellent results in each category, the just presented Thule Dynamic 800 roof box was awarded first place. Launched in September, the sleek hard-top carrier scored the most points - especially in the category driving test. The non-slip base mat minimised luggage sliding, enhancing safety during transit and further contributing to the Dekra recognition.

Thule Ranger 500, the foldable canvas roof box designed for space concious urbanites, ranked the top three in the Dekra award. It received excellent results in the crash test and was the only box which included carriers for secure ski transport in its basic construction.
