Travelogix & GWS Agree Acquisition, Development Partnership & Investment Plan

1 February 2016 – Merseyside based Travelogix Ltd; developers of advanced business travel data solutions, have approved an acquisition and investment plan which sees Global Warning System (GWS) acquire 51% of the company and invest in growth over the course of the next 4 years. The investment secured by Travelogix and the acquisition attained by Swedish based GWS is seen as beneficial for both parties as well as their respective client base.

GWS is a travel security company offering a mobile-based service called Safeture. Safeture works to protect travellers by providing reliable GPS tracking and real-time security alerts and updates relating to disasters, risks, and threats. It effectively caters to the safety and protection of travelling business teams and individuals.

The acquisition agreement means that Travelogix will represent GWS and resell their solution as well as securing investment to continue growth of sales and development of Travelogix solutions. As per Travelogix’ CEO, Chris Lewis, “The team at GWS have developed an extremely desirable security solution for TMC and Travel Managers alike and we look forward to working with our counterparts in Sweden to further evolve the offerings of both GWS and Travelogix. Travelogix already has a wealth of development plans for our own suite of products which this agreement will help us to accelerate and deliver more effectively. An additional series of cross-platform integration initiatives have also been planned and agreed with Safeture and will not only improve our company’s services and products but also those of GWS.”

Whilst Travelogix has the opportunity to enhance their product offerings and portfolio via this acquisition the secured investment plan will also further assist the growth of the company’s development, sales and product support teams. Additionally, whereas Travelogix’ current client base is based in UK and Ireland, the acquisition will open doors for international partnerships in the future, beginning with its first international partnership which is expected to occur within 6 months.

The acquisition and development partnership will also benefit GWS who will attain an in-house knowledgebase via Travelogix’ wealth of business travel experience, industry connections and data handling expertise. The integration of travel data into the Safeture Platform is key to the acquisition agreement and Travelogix will play a key role in leading this integration. GWS will also maintain a presence within UK and its business travel industry via Travelogix.

Co-founders of Travelogix, Chris Lewis and Gary Jones, will retain their positions as CEO and CTO respectively and Sally-Anne Houlker will be promoted internally at Travelogix to become Product and Operations Manager. GWS’ CEO Andreas Rodman and CFO Åke Knutsson will take seats on the Travelogix board. Travelogix’ Development, Sales and Support teams are expected to grow.

CEO of GWS, Andreas Rodman commented “we are proud to announce this exciting partnership and acquisition agreement which comes at a critical stage in both Travelogix’ and GWS’ growth. The agreement mutually benefits both Travelogix and GWS as well as our partners and clients as we exploit the agreement to refine, develop, and enhance our mutual service offerings”.
