Little Monsters Bash - A fun festival for little monsters!

Brighton’s Stanmer Park played host to the launch of ‘Little Monsters Bash’ a family festival of fun and music in aid of children’s charity Tree of Hope on Saturday 9^th August. The ‘bash’ was the first of its kind and considered a huge success by many of the 3,000 youngsters and their families that visited the event with the likes of Cbeebies characters Dick & Dom and Alex Winters headlining the main stage.

Entertainment was available throughout the day with youngsters able to meet their idols and learn something new. The line-up provided something for all of the family with additional dedicated monster zones such as Baby & Sensory, Arts & Crafts, Music & Dance, Storytelling, Kids Kitchen, Sports & Activities & Farm Area all proving to be a big hit.

The event was dreamt up and organised by Director of Rise Events and also Trustee of Tree of Hope, Teresa Gillam and CEO of Tree of Hope, Jeremy Marris, along with the dedicated events team at Rise Events. 100% of the profits from the event will go to the children’s charity Tree of Hope that helps the families of sick and disabled children in the UK who need specialist medical treatment.  The aim of the event was to provide awareness of the charity with a whole day of non-stop entertainment for young children, with an emphasis on helping to raise awareness and funds to transform the lives of sick youngsters and their families. Those who attended are in turn supporting the charity and its mission to help those in need.

Many of the families that came along have given very positive feedback via email and social media with comments such as, “A big big thank you! I have just got back from a great day out! Kids loved it and I was very impressed with how well planned it was. The food was well priced and there was a good amount to keep our children amused. We were there for six hours! Dick and Dom were awesome and Titan the robot was amazing”!

Another added “Finally recovered from last Saturday but kids still haven't stopped talking about Little Monsters Bash! They loved it! Thank you. “

Dick & Dom commented, “It is the best bash in the entire world!” In addition to the comedy duo, other famous faces included Great Big Gig, Greg Foot, the energetic Go Go Go Show, Britain’s Got Talent ventriloquist act, Steve Hewlett, Paralympic gold medallist cyclist Mark Lee Colbourne MBE and last but not least every youngsters favourite Peppa Pig.

Another Mum said “It was nice for the kids to meet Mark Colbourne, the Paralympic god medallist, he let my son hold his medal. Inspirational guy for the kids to meet.”

Event organiser and Trustee of Tree of Hope, Teresa Gillam said “I am thrilled and excited that the event went was such a success for its first year, we were so lucky to have such lovely sunny weather. There is an absolute need for this kind of event for youngsters and their families. It was brilliant to receive such positive and helpful feedback that we are now reviewing with plans already underway for a repeat in 2015 to make the event even bigger and better for our second year.
