Purple Frog Systems make Front Cover of Computer Weekly

·  Another UKITA member in Computer Weekly this week

·  Purple Frog Systems are among first to get IASME gold standard certification

·  Interest in information security beginning to match need

Another member of the UK IT Association has been recognised by Computer Weekly after Purple Frog Systems appeared on the front cover of the publication.

The article involved was a joint case-study of the benefits that Purple Frog Systems had derived from achieving the gold standard certification in information security from fellow UKITA member, IASME.

In an era where big multi-national companies such as Evernote and Facebook have suffered data breaches, there is growing concern among businesses of all sizes around the subject of information security.  For too long small and medium-sized businesses ignored the threats of the cyberattack and data-loss and assumed that only Government and large corporates needed to take precautions but this is starting to change.

Purple Frog Systems have identified that being recognised as responsible data handlers will give them an edge against competitors who have not been so pro-active in deonstrating  appropriate processes and certification.

This need was identified as they deal with a large number of corporate or public sector clients who increasingly ask for evidence and a statement of  how they handle data and what safety measures they have in place. As an SME business, they found it challenging to establish their credentials in competition with larger suppliers.

They considered the ISO 27001 standard, but the cost was a significant deterrent so they were delighted when they were introduced to IASME.

The IASME information security standard has been specifically designed for small and medium sized companies and provides a thorough but accessible entry-level into information security.

Hollie Whittles, a Director of Purple Frog Systems, says: “Operating in a highly competitive market, we wanted to demonstrate that we took information security seriously. Because we handle a lot of sensitive client data, we wanted to do more in this area to prove to our corporate customers and their auditors that we can handle their data securely,”

Purple Frog Systems feel that the IASME gold standard certificate has given them an advantage over their competitors in the marketplace.
