The UK IT Association has been encouraged by the European Commission’s creation of the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs, but more needs to be done to close the IT skills gap.

So we are more than pleased to recognise the work of a local businessman in Croydon who has started a grass roots campaign to get help and support to SMEs and start-ups.

European Commission President José Manuel Barroso called on Europe's digital businesses, governments, training and education sectors to address the issue of 900,000 job vacancies that are expected to be unfilled in the IT Sector by 2015.

There is a glass ceiling between the IT businesses that are known to and have accessed help from things like RDA growth project funds and the huge number of IT businesses who are not on the radar of the policy makers and funders.
