STAR QUALITY!

House of Turin secures five-star VisitScotland grading

A country mansion in Angus, which offers guests the ultimate in deluxe comfort, is celebrating in style after successfully securing five stars from VisitScotland.

The House of Turin achieved the grading after taking part in the national tourism organisation’s Quality Assurance Scheme, which recognises businesses that meet and exceed the high standards expected by visitors.

After working overseas for 23 years, owner Yvonne Corbett has put her international experience into The House of Turin, a spectacular Georgian house which has been fully restored to its natural beauty.

The exclusive use property, boasting 10 luxurious Clive Christian bedrooms, offers a bespoke service for exclusive use, whether it be for a wedding, photo shoot or film location.

Surrounded by stunning Angus Glens and situated within 20 acres of land, the venue, which can hold up to 120 people, is often used for a range of bespoke events.

It is also perfectly located for surrounding activities such as golf, hillwalking, mountain biking, not to mention beach walks on nearby Lunan Bay.

Inside the house, guests can enjoy luxury throughout with a swimming pool, spa room, private bar, games room, whisky tastings and cookery lessons.

Yvonne Corbett, owner of The House of Turin:

“I am absolutely delighted and honoured to receive five stars from VisitScotland. We have worked really hard with an attention to the small details and always strive to upgrade. The award means a lot to the area as well and hopefully it will attract international visitors and raise the platform of awareness for Angus and the surrounding area.

“I’m going to China to attend the China Golf Show in Beijing and with the five stars from VisitScotland, I’m hoping to inspire visitors to come and explore The House of Turin and all of the outdoor activities that Angus has to offer.”

Jim Clarkson, VisitScotland Regional Director:

“I would like to congratulate Yvonne and The House of Turin on the five star award. Not only is this a big achievement, it is also a testament of hard work and top quality. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, Angus is a fantastic place to visit and having a five star luxury mansion will hopefully encourage new visitors to come and explore the region.”

“Our Quality Assurance Scheme raises the standard of quality and service, ensuring businesses in Angus meet and exceed the high standards expected by visitors. I hope The House of Turin and its 5 stars will inspire others to strive for such results.”

VisitScotland’s Quality Assurance Scheme currently boasts over 7,000 participants and has been used as an example of best practice with countries all over the world, including Sweden and Namibia, which have made an investment in their business in the last few years, totalling around £70 million.
