The Wales Co-operative Centre, Wales’ leading social business support agency, has moved from its home of over thirty years to new premises in Caerphilly.

The Wales Co-operative Centre has been based in Llandaff Court in Cardiff since it was set up in 1982. The Centre has also had offices at Navigation Park in Abercynon for several years.

The new head office will offer staff at the Wales Co-operative Centre access to modern and environmentally friendly facilities. The modern office facilities are suitable for an organisation that is supporting new businesses to incorporate and grow as well acting at the vanguard of work to improve levels of financial and digital inclusion across Wales. The new base offers high-speed broadband and wi-fi, plentiful on-site car parking and close proximity to public transport links, plus easy access to Cardiff and the Bay.

Derek Walker is Chief Executive of the Wales Co-operative Centre. He commented,

“The move to Caerphilly will position the Wales Co-operative Centre firmly in the Convergence area of Wales, putting us closer to many of the people, businesses and communities we support.

“In United Welsh, we will be sharing a building with an organisation that shares many of our aims and our ethos – valuing people and the environment as much as profit.

“In addition we are working with a social enterprise to remove and recycle any items that are left at our Cardiff Office”.
