Last night, Rhondda-based social enterprise Greenstream Flooring CIC was awarded the highly prestigious MRW Resource Management Business Of The Year (small) Award at a high profile waste management sector dinner in London.

The MRW award comes only a week after Greenstream picked up Best Practice Re-use Member of The Year at The Carpet Recycling UK awards in Birmingham.

The above comes only two weeks after Greenstream was awarded a place on this years’ Deloitte Social Innovation Pioneer Programme and WRAP’s ReBUS programme. Both of which will provide Greenstream much skill-based support to support its’ rapid growth both in Wales and around the UK.

Ellen Petts MD of Greenstream commented today

‘It’s such a busy and exciting time at Greenstream at the moment. It’s fantastic to be recognized by these national award bodies especially at a time where everyone is working flat out to keep on top of current demand. The whole team won these awards and we’re immensely proud to bring these awards back to the community in the Rhondda where most of our volunteers, placements and staff are from. A big thank you to everyone is richly deserved’

Derek Walker, Chief Executive of Wales Co-operative Centre congratulated Greenstream:

"Greenstream are an impressive example of how social enterprises can make a massive difference to local economies and communities. The awards that the team at Greenstream have received are a reflection of all the hard work that they put into developing their business and the fact that they are competing against private, public and third sector bodies, and winning, demonstrates the impact of their work".
