Wales Co-operative Centre appoints Co-operative Housing Project Manager

For immediate release:

The Wales Co-operative Centre has appointed David Palmer as Co-operative Housing Project Manager to manage the provision of development support and assistance to co-operative housing schemes across Wales.

David joins the Centre with excellent experience from the social housing and construction sector. He worked as a Development and Asset Manager for the Marches Housing Association, before joining Persimmon Partnerships as a National Affordable Housing Partnership Manager.

The Co-operative Housing Project aims to increase the supply of co-operative housing in Wales, supporting the development of a variety of different housing co-operative models and improve the skills and expertise of the members of co-operative housing schemes in Wales to ensure their sustainability. The scheme aims to encourage the process of developing emerging co-operative schemes in Wales and stimulate new initiatives. In the longer term, the project will build a knowledge base and resource for co-operative housing based in Wales as well as guidance for future schemes.

The project is funded by Welsh Government.

David Palmer is a Fellow of the Association of Building Engineers and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
