EBLEX REVAMPS TRADE MARKETING WEBSITE

EBLEX has refreshed its trade marketing website by introducing a host of new tools and upgrades, making it a one-stop shop for everything you need to know about Quality Standard Mark beef and lamb.

Aimed at the retail and foodservice sectors the site, www.eblextrade.co.uk, has been revised to bring all of the tools and resources for both sectors into one place with improved navigation. It also features a number of new features including a collection of butchery demonstration videos featuring EBLEX’s master butcher Dick van Leeuwen.

Twenty-two new videos have been added to the site, taking the total number of demonstration videos up to 40. Of the 22 new videos, four of them include demonstrations for six beef cuts from the sirloin and fore-rib, while the other 18 videos focus on 36 individual lamb cuts from the breast, forequarter and leg.

Designed to educate butchers and chefs on how to make more of the carcase and add significant value to beef and lamb cuts using seam cutting techniques, the videos are a valuable tool for anyone looking to diversify their beef and lamb offer.

In addition, the video page has also been enhanced to include links to each of the demonstrated cuts in the Cutting Specification Manual and Meat Purchasing Guide. This new feature will enable suppliers and chefs to effortlessly access the relevant pages within the books, where they’ll find step-by-step instructions on how to prepare the cut and its unique ordering code. Furthermore, recipe ideas and cooking instructions have been provided for chefs to give them more inspiration in the kitchen, plus a yield and costings tool – which demonstrates the value that can be added to your bottom line – also accompanies most of the cuts.

Digital marketing executive for EBLEX, Sally Crowther, said: "The EBLEX trade marketing website has been revamped and upgraded to bring all of our tools and resources under one roof with improved navigation.

“Retaining all of the popular tools and resources, such as retail prices, costing calculators and hundreds of recipes, the site also carries a wealth of industry information and knowledge transfer guides for our Quality Standard Mark Scheme members and other visitors to use.

“The site contains everything you need to know about Quality Standard Mark beef and lamb including how the scheme can benefit your business whether you’re an abattoir, processor, supplier, retailer or caterer. We've also added our Scheme Membership Declaration form so that anyone interested in becoming a member can print it off and send it back to us for processing.

“Other improvements such as the implementation of drop-down menus have also been installed, allowing for quick access to other areas of the site including the counter merchandising tool for retailers, sous vide recipes for chefs and the point-of-sale materials which are available to members of our Quality Standard Mark Scheme. There are also links to our YouTube channel and Facebook and Twitter pages, plus you can ‘share’ features from our site with your own friends and followers.

“Of course in light of these improvements, some visitors may find they are prompted to upgrade certain programmes on their computers. For example, the majority of the guides on the site, including the recipe books and cutting specifications, are displayed in flip books which require the user to have Adobe Flash installed. Visitors may need to upgrade their computer software appropriately to enable them to use the website to the best of its ability.”

Following the improvements to the website, EBLEX will also be announcing a number of new initiatives this year to help industry drive further sales of beef and lamb, so watch this space!
