EBLEX’s trade marketing team was voted ‘Best Trade Organisation’ at this year’s Meat Management Awards, beating four other industry bodies.
The National Federation of Meat and Food Traders, the Scottish Association of Meat Wholesalers, the Q Guild and the British Meat Processors’ Association were all in the running for the prestigious award, but EBLEX pipped them to the post.
The award comes on the back of the most active, ambitious and successful product development programme ever, with the launch of five new concepts for beef and lamb this year. The new cuts in the ranges are designed to maximise carcase utilisation and increase profitability throughout the supply chain. A number of these have already been successfully picked up by multiple and independent retailers and the foodservice sector.
Head of trade marketing for EBLEX, Mike Whittemore, said: “I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of the trade team. It is a comprehensive team with expertise in all areas that supports the whole industry.”
EBLEX is the organisation for beef and lamb levy payers in England and is a division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB).
