The long winter and cold/wet spring let to my spontaneous decision to seek some walking in the sunshine. Although very familiar with the South of France, this particular corner had so far escaped my attention, and what a pleasant surprise it was!
The islands were an absolute delight, the walking varied and surprisingly demanding, the beaches really were golden, and the water crystal clear –albeit a little on the chilly side for me.
Jerome, our local guide, was a fountain of knowledge on fauna, flora and local information, and even made us coffee in the middle of nowhere!
The ferry rides where an added bonus, and I also really enjoyed exploring the little town of Bormes les Mimosas in full bloom. All in all a great break.
