Bin collection dates for the festive period

Rochdale Borough Council has announced that some bin collection days over Christmas and
New Year will change.

Therefore, residents with a collection due on:· 

  • Wednesday 25 December (Christmas Day) will now be collected on Saturday 28 December
  • Thursday 26 December (Boxing Day) will be collected on Monday 30 December
  • Wednesday 1 January (New Year’s Day) will be collected on Saturday 4 January

All other collection days will remain the same.

All households with a new date will receive a leaflet with details of the changes.

Councillor Jacqui Beswick, Portfolio Holder for Place and Regulation said: “Crews will be
working hard over the festive period to provide a service. If we experience
severe weather during this period, I would ask residents to check the council
website for regular updates”.

Residents can also check all their collection dates on the postcode checker on the ‘When
are my bins collected?’ page on the council’s website at www.rochdale.gov.uk
