Cocoon a Return

Sally Darlington, a local textiles designer is exhibiting at Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre until Sunday 8 June, running alongside a local crafts fair.

The exhibition, called ‘Cocoon a Return’ is the latest collection form the award winning local designer. It will be the first time she has exhibited at Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre.

She explained:

“I have always had a passion for Textiles. Since I was little I have been sewing and stitching something or another. I have exhibited my work throughout the UK and in 2011 I became a member of Northlights Studio in Hebden Bridge.”

After earning a degree from the famous Glasgow School of Art, she went on to work for BMK Ltd, a carpet designer and her designs can be seen all around the world in places such as JFK Airport and Tiffany’s in New York.

A craft fair will also be held to coincide with the textiles exhibition featuring only local handmade designs.

Taking place also at the Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre, the craft fair will be on Saturday 17 June from 11am to 3.30pm.

Combining both events together under one roof means that visitors can have a look around stalls from the independent, local crafts people and have a look at the award winning designs of Sally Darlington.

Featuring crafts from ‘Polly’s Presents’ and ‘Bubblecup Design’ amongst many others, the craft fair is certain to have something for everyone.
