Learn to Knit on Holiday in Cornwall

Knitting has seen a phenomenal surge in popularity, with wool sales up by nearly 50% and more and more people taking up this very rewarding craft. For many it offers a relatively easy way to get creative whilst at the same time clothing oneself and one’s nearest and dearest. Knitting has seen a consistent rise in popularity with many high profile personalities such as Uma Thurman, Julia Roberts, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Ryan Reynolds amongst many others, making their love of knitting public and heightening its appeal amongst those who follow them.

“It's just great to make things. To have a pile of yarn and make it into something.” ~ Julia Roberts

At Rosehill Lodges, Pauline Barrow - a well-known Cornish knitter, is offering lessons for novice knitters who will be staying on holiday at Rosehill. The courses will run from October to May on two weekends of each month. Knitting lessons will take place in the secluded craft cabin in the woodland near the lodge accommodation. Beginning in October 2012, courses will run between 11am and 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays of selected weekends. See the website for details http://www.rosehilllodges.com/prices-and-booking/knitting-holidays. Places on each course are  limited to a maximum  of eight participants.

It is a great way to encourage more people to take up knitting - a wonderfully rewarding hobby, and at the same time enjoy a fantastic holiday on the Cornish coast. Participants will receive two sessions of tuition in a relaxed style, with needles, yarn and patterns along with refreshments, biscuits and cakes all supplied as part of the course. The cost of the course is £45 and participants must be staying at Rosehill on holiday. Experienced knitters are also welcome to book onto the course to offer support and to ‘knit and natter’.

For an exceptional holiday experience, it is well worth considering Rosehill Lodges http://www.rosehilllodges.com.
