"The fear of auditioning in front of four, strict judges is nothing compared to the thrills and spills of the Shocktober Fest!" reported popular contestants Tom Mann and Giles Potter, as they accompanied rapper Lil' Chris and presenter Jack Maynard around the terrifying haunts at the Scream Park last night (Thursday).
Scared stiff at times and relying upon each other for bravery, the talented foursome revelled
in the opportunity to explore the award winning haunts, chatting to fans, providing photographs and signing clothing along the way!
"This place is insane!" commented X-Factor singer Giles "I've never seen anything like it!" as the group ventured carefully together through the twists and turns of the Scream Park's WoodShock Rottin' since '69 Maze.
Visiting each of the Scream Park's terrifying haunts, which included the Creepy Cottage, Haunted
Hayride, The Cellar, Hell-ements and Twisted, the guys were followed by admiring fans every step of the way.
It wasn't long before the Scream Park's resident hag made sure she got in on the action too, ensuring they understood that they were her entourage and she was not theirs! “Lil' Chris ch ch checked me out, Tom Mann posed around the girls a bit and Giles cried. However, they all screamed a lot and wanted my number – the way it always is with boys when they meet me...”.
Used to seeing tears of fear at the Scream Park, it was instead 'tears of joy' that were witnessed, as fan Lorna Harris spent time talking to and having photographs with her idols. "I've watched these guys on the television, I know all about them and here they are at enjoying Shocktober Fest, I can't believe it, it's so cool!"
Chris Bowman of Scream Park Entertainments said “It was fabulous having Lil Chris, Jack Maynard and the guys from X Factor here. They played along with all of our actors and great fun was had by all! I think the actors were pleased to see them screaming along with everyone else!”
Embarking on solo and collaborative projects over the forthcoming weeks, a night out at Shocktober Fest offered a rest, albeit a shocking one, for the hard working foursome. Stuart Beare, creative behind Shocktober Fest and owner of Tulleys Farm commented "It was great to be able to welcome the guys here for a night of entertainment. Like us, they work so hard and it was lovely to see how pleased the fans were to meet them too. I hear Esmerelda and our Red Cross Nurses took care of their shocks in our new cocktail bar once they had been around the Park, so I do hope
they are not too scarred this morning!"
