Enjoy a summer holiday closer to home and save over £1,400

AS more and more families continue to watch their spending, Northern Ireland’s leading ferry company believes people can still enjoy an action packed summer holiday closer to home and save over £1,400 than those who choose to go abroad.

In a price comparison carried out by Stena Line for a family of four, passengers can travel from Belfast to Cairnryan and enjoy a seven night stay with Haven in Ayr in a two bed mobile home from only £1,097 when staying in Craig Tara or travel from Belfast to Liverpool and stay in Marton Mere in Blackpool from £927. This is compared to £2,503 for a similar self-catering break in Benalmadena on the Costa del Sol or £2,148 in Sa Coma in Majorca.

Stena Line’s Head of PR and Communications Diane Poole OBE said: “It is fair to say that it is a sign of the times that people have less money to spend, and for a lot of families, a summer holiday is seen as a luxury that many can’t afford. With that in mind, we have developed a great range of affordable self-catering holidays, allowing families to getaway without breaking the bank and a Haven holiday is perfect for an enjoyable family break as it offers a modern accommodation and great range of activities including swimming pools, kids club and family entertainment in the evening.

“What’s more, with a Stena Line self-catering holiday, people have the luxury of taking their car and won’t have to worry about the additional charges that soon mount up when flying such as baggage charges, check-in charges, airport parking and car hire. Taking the ferry is the perfect way for families to travel, and with Stena Line the holiday starts as soon as you step onboard thanks to the excellent facilities including children’s play areas, free onboard movies, free Wi-Fi and a great selection of restaurants and bars for adults to relax as they sail,” Diane added.

Families can enjoy an action packed holiday at any of the Haven parks, with a great range of activities and kids clubs as well as a mix of water slides, flumes, SplashZones, Lazy Rivers, toddlers pools and bubble pools – all free to use. Not to mention great pool-based activities from the new Pool Kayaking sessions, AquaJets and Learn2Swim to Water Confidence sessions as well as free fun inflatables.
