Stroke Association and Crossfit Defiance team up for Wellbeing Week

The Stroke Association and Crossfit Defiance in Brighouse teamed up on Wednesday 26 September, to support the charity’s Wellbeing Week.

Matt Noble, Coach from Crossfit Defiance, led a session at the gym with Stroke Association Support Coordinators from across Kirklees and Calderdale, to teach different exercises and ways to keep active.

Samantha Jones, Stroke Association Support Manager took part in the session, and said: “We’re holding our Wellbeing Week across the organisation to encourage our teams to try different ways of improving their wellbeing.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Matt for leading the session with our staff. Not only did we have a great workout and learn different exercises, but the everyday movements used in the session can also be useful for us to use when working with stroke survivors, perhaps when helping people to get out of a seated position.”

Matt added: “It’s great to be working with local groups from the Brighouse area, passing on how fitness can benefit everyone in everyday life.”
