Can you help identify a man in connection with two recent burglaries in Banstead?

We are appealing for the public’s help in identifying the man from the CCTV images, in connection with two burglaries in Banstead.

The first incident happened on Sunday, 3 February between 3pm and 4pm on Yewlands Close. The victim, a woman in her 70’s, was left devastated after heartless thieves ransacked her home, taking a large quantify of cash and jewellery, including a locket containing a lock of hair belonging to her daughter, who died when she was just four years old.

The second incident happened just over a mile away on Dunnymans Road. On Friday, 29 March at approximately 10.45am, a parcel was interfered with but nothing was stolen.

PC Carl Knowles, who is investigating the incidents said: “If you recognise the man from the CCTV images, please come forward. The victim of the first incident was devastated that her locket was taken, it has huge personal value to her as it contained the hair of her daughter, who sadly died when she was four.

“We have also released a photograph of the locket, so if you recognise this item of jewellery, please contact us.”
