Did you see attempt knifepoint robbery at Stanwell newsagents?

We are appealing for witnesses following an attempt knifepoint robbery at a newsagents in Stanwell on Saturday morning (20 July).

An investigation is underway following the robbery, which took place at Martins Newsagents in Clare Road around 9.30am. The suspect, who had his face covered, walked into the shop and demanded money. He was carrying a bladed weapon at the time which he left behind.

The suspect left empty-handed on foot in the direction of Elizabeth Way.

No one was injured although staff were left shaken as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as white, 5ft 9 tall, of a slim build and was wearing blue trainers, light-coloured jeans, a grey hooded jacket and a black face mask. He was carrying a white drawstring bag.
