The ex-headmaster at a now-closed West Sussex school has appeared in court on charges of sex offences against boy pupils.
Frank Skipwith, 79, now of Eynsham, Oxfordshire, appeared at Worthing Magistrates' Court on 4 June, charged with 19 offences of indecent assault against eight boys then under-14 at Fernden preparatory school in Square Drive, Fernhurst, between 1981 and 1985.
The school closed in 1985.
Skipwith pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial, with a plea and case management hearing due at Guildford Crown Court on 2 July.
The prosecution, authorised by the CPS, follows an investigation by detectives from the Sussex Police Complex Abuse Unit.
