Woman charged after ashes taken from parked car in Bognor

A woman has been charged with theft from a parked car in Nyewood Crescent, Bognor, in the early hours of Sunday 2 June.

Natasha Cardwell, 35, unemployed, of Chichester Road, Bognor, is due to appear at Worthing Magistrates' Court on 26 July

A 27-year-old woman from Bognor Regis, who had been arrested on 4 June on suspicion of theft from a vehicle, was later released without charge.

Amongst the items taken was a box containing the ashes of a recently deceased member of the car owner's family. The box and ashes were found discarded nearby.

Also stolen were gloves, glasses and some clothing.
