DK - New furniture range from Svedbergs

Press releases   •   Apr 21, 2015 12:48 BST

Noted Danish designers, MORTEN VOSS AND STINE KNUDSEN have created a new furniture
range for Svedbergs, called DK, which is now available in the UK.

The phrase "less is more" is now more relevant than ever before. DK is a new range that has been designed in cooperation with the two Danish designers. It is clean and simple with great attention to detail. Straight lines give a modern and sophisticated impression. The details have been thought through exactly with bevelled corners, inset drawers and handles and compartmented drawer liners.

DK - Scandinavian design
Morten Voss founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 1994. One of his best-known works is the classic Flightdeck -table. Stinne Knudsen graduated from the Danish Design School in 2001, and has since worked on interior design and people in spaces. Morten’s company is responsible for setting designs and Stinne works on colours and details. From this collaboration our new range DK, was born.

DK is part of an ongoing strategy at Svedbergs to provide customers with personalized bathroom furniture. There are an abundant selection of possibilities, including widths, colours, materials and the number of worktop finishes. Whats more, behind all the cabinet doors and drawers is a huge amount of storage, enough room for all bathroom necessities It's all in the design - and Svedbergs quality.

Showerscreens with patterns exclusively designed by Hanna Werning

Press releases   •   May 07, 2013 15:23 BST

Svedbergs of Dalstorp, Sweden, are proud to announce  the launch of their latest shower solutions with fashionable and stylish designs. In Scandanavia, more and more people are choosing to have discreet colour schemes on walls and floors in their bathrooms then fit one of our designer shower enclosures  to complete the bathroom makeover. If more privacy is required, you can choose any of our new shower enclosures with a pattern on frosted glass. These brand new designs have been exclusively created for Svedbergs by Hanna Werning.

Hanna Werning’s designs are a composition of contemporary and historical references, a mixture of ornamentation, color impression and rhythm, interwoven to create something new and fanciful for everyday life.

” When I drew Svedbergs shower patterns, I took inspiration from my many trips where I studied and photographed tiles, ornamentation and decoration in architecture from countries such as Portugal, Holland, Japan and USA. I also wanted to take into account the human body and the desire to be able to offer privacy but simultaneously provide a feeling of space. The idea was to see it as a shower curtain with some light transmission. Personally, I like to bring in as much natural light as possible into the shower, where the transparency and the white frosty color choice combine”, says Hanna Werning.

Showers are available in four different styles with three different patterns:
- Fasett Casablanca screen wall designs are inspired by the mosaic tiles from Morocco and is reminiscent of a palace in Casablanca.
- Entre New York half-round corner shower has a pattern that gives a sense of the pulse of the city.
- Entre Istanbul straight corner shower and Entre Istanbul simple niche shower has the same fashionable designs with atmosphere from the Near East.

About Hanna Werning
Hanna works across a wide spectrum of design projects worldwide with specialty in pattern design, for example, textiles, wallpaper, china and glassware. Previous clients include Boråstapeter, Rorstrand, IKEA, Eastpak and fashion companies Dagmar and Anna Sui.

Hanna grew up in Småland, close to John Bauer forests and Dalstorp. She was educated at St. Martins College in London and it was there, in the screen printing workshop, her fascination with pattern began to evolve and that laid the foundation for her distinctive imagery. Today she runs her design studio in Stockholm. She has previously designed bathroom products for the worldwide bathroom manufacturer Roca. The task of designing showers for Svedbergs is  the first thing she has done for the  Swedish bathroom industry.

Her designs have included assigned Elle interior design price in 2004, 2007 and 2008, and the year's pattern 2006 of the magazine Residence.

Svedbergs has not always made bathroom furniture. The story began when Holger Svedberg started to produce sheet metal products in 1920 to manufacture the finest flour vessels. Svedbergs had seen the light and  when his sons took over the company in the early sixties, they started to manufacture bathroom cabinets that revolutionized the country’s bathrooms. Soon they had built a large joinery workshop and the manufacture of bathroom furniture really took off. Development of the business continued and today, our product range includes furniture, showers, baths, ceramics, towel warmers, brassware and accessories. Most of the products are manufactured in our own two factories in Dalstorp and Hällabäck. For us it has never been an option to move production from Sweden. Today Svedbergs is one of the leading bathroom companies in the Nordic region. Most importantly, the passion and the intense attention to detail of precise craftsmanship still lives in Dalstorp.
