Signalling Restored Snow Hill – Stratford upon Avon

Nov 21, 2014 16:57 GMT London Midland Rail services on the Snow Hill line towards Stratford upon Avon will return to normal tomorrow (Saturday 22 November). Network Rail has repaired the signalling fault that has stopped trains from running since Tuesday morning.

As a result, London Midland is unable to run train services between Shirley and Stratford upon Avon for a fourth day. London Midland apologises for the inconvenience this will cause.

While Network Rail has been working to resolve the problem there is currently no estimate of when the line can re-open.

Hitachi Unveils Train for the UK Intercity Express Programme

Nov 14, 2014 00:05 GMT Hitachi Rail Europe Hitachi announced today that it has unveiled the first train being manufactured for the UK Department for Transport’s Intercity Express Programme (IEP). The order for these new trains was received back in July 2012 and the first pre-series models are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014. They will then be shipped to the UK for test operations in the first half of 2015.

Kings Norton station to get more free parking

Nov 11, 2014 15:32 GMT London Midland Commuters using a south Birmingham rail station are to get more free parking thanks to a £600,000 Park and Ride extension. Centro, the region's public transport co-ordinator, has started work on adding a further 100 spaces to the existing 220 at Kings Norton.
