This is particularly concerning given recent research which found that disabled people affected by the bedroom tax are cutting back on both every day essentials and medical expenses in order to meet payments.

Redevelopment plans for the RNOH, Stanmore

Mar 29, 2013 15:39 GMT Aspire Aspire’s head office and the National Training Centre are based on the site of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. For years, the hospital has been working on getting planning permission for a complete redevelopment of the site to improve facilities and bring it up to date. Last week, Harrow Council gave the go ahead for exciting plans for a £98million rebuild.

Residents were expected to use the higher rate mobility component of their Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to access the Motability Scheme to lease their own powered wheelchair, even when they had been medically assessed as needing one.
