Lost painting discovered in build-up to St Ives exhibition

Aug 16, 2014 18:20 BST Sims Gallery A lost painting by the British artist Robert Borlase Smart (1881-1947) was recently discovered whilst preparing works for a forthcoming exhibition. The painting was last seen in 1929 when it was exhibited at the Royal Academy, it had also been exhibited in 1928 at the Royal West of England Academy. The painting had been covered by another canvas, which was slightly later in date.
