What's new in Qlik Sense September 2019.....

On Monday Qlik announced the launch of Qlik Sense Business along with enhancements to Qlik Sense Enterprise. With this release, Qlik have again underscored why Qlik, as the largest independent data and analytics company, is leading the third generation of BI.

Qlik Sense Business is their newest SaaS product and lead trial offering, designed to empower groups and teams to quickly get started with Qlik Sense.

  • Qlik Sense Business shares the same cloud-native architecture as Qlik Sense Enterprise and is hosted on Qlik Cloud Services – the highly scalable, trusted and secure SaaS environment.
  • As a reminder, Qlik Sense Cloud Business (QSCB) is being replaced with Qlik Sense Business. With this transition, current QSCB customers receive access to Qlik Sense Business for the duration of their current subscription and have been notified that they have until December 15, 2019 to migrate their content.

In addition to Qlik Sense Business, Qlik have made a number of enhancements to Qlik Sense.

  • Natural Language Processing capabilities in the Qlik Cognitive Engine support natural language search in Insight Advisor. This capability provides users a more intuitive way to interact with Insight Advisor and visually explore data sets to gain insights. Please note that this feature is currently available on cloud editions of Qlik Sense, in English only.
  • Advanced Authoring capabilities have seen improvements with default landing sheets, expanded search and expression promotion, and include new visualization capabilities such as a variance waterfall chart, improved pie chart styling, and a “current location” feature to our mapping object.
  • For mobility, Qlik have improved EMM support for MobileIron and added support for the new iPad OS.
  • Their Salesforce connector is now available on all editions of Qlik Sense.
  • There is also now integrated connectivity to Snowflake, helping to strengthen their alliance with Snowflake – a leading enterprise-ready, cloud-based SQL Data Warehouse.

Qlik have also launched Qlik Data Catalyst for QVDs. This streamlined Qlik Data Catalyst offering focuses on making it easier for Qlik users to discover, understand and consume QVD files. 

Qlik NPrinting has been improved with new authoring functionality, supporting the customers’ journey to Qlik as their enterprise standard for reporting and analytics. The next release of the Qlik Associative Big Data Index will enable customers to visually explore big data sources using new visualisation and chart options.

As they look to the November release, Qlik will continue to deliver new capabilities supporting their leadership position as the only end-to-end data integration and analytics platform in the industry.
