Happy St. George's Day

With Easter just behind us why not celebrate St. George slaying a dragon to rescue a princess, by making your very own dragon spoon.

You will need:

  • A wooden spoon
  • Paint (you can make your dragon any colour you want)
  • Card (to match the colour of your paint)
  • Scraps of red, yellow and orange tissue paper/crepe paper
  • PVA glue
  • Wiggly eyes
  • Black  pen
  • Glitter (optional)

Step 1

Paint the spoon and leave to dry.

Step 2

Turn your spoon upside down. Draw around the bowl of the spoon onto the card. Cut out and glue to the spoon at the base of the handle (this is the lower part of the jaw).

Step 3

Glue the eyes to the back of the spoon, and draw on the nose with black pen.

Step 4

Cut of the wings from card and glue onto the bottom of the spoon handle so that the wings stand up.

Now cut an arrow-shaped tail from the card and glue onto the spoon.

Finally cut a flame shapes from tissue paper and crepe paper. Stick inside the dragon’s mouth.

If you wish you could decorate your dragon with glitter to make its scales shimmer in the light.

We would love to see the finished creations. Please send a photo to art@thecreationstation.co.uk for the chance to be featured on The Creation Station Ltd Facebook page.
