#runneroftheweek - Lisa and Chris

A Mum and Dad are going head-to-head to see who will get the best time in this year’s Great North Run as they tackle 13 miles to raise money for us after we supported them at Crawford House, Newcastle.

In 2014, Lisa and Chris’ daughter Jessica, now five, was left fighting for her life in the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI), Newcastle, after the family car was hit from behind by a taxi

For the next month, Jessica received specialist rehabilitation treatment at the RVI. During this difficult time, the family stayed in Crawford House.

Now, Jessica is making good, steady progress, yet remains paralysed down her right side. To thank the charity for keeping the family together, her Mum and Dad are taking part in the Great North Run.

The challenge is a tough one, but Lisa knows that the pair will get round in one piece.
