The United Kingdom Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association (UKBJJA) has unveiled a new series of training programmes for its members and instructors, including certified First Aid, Safeguarding, Refereeing and Coaching Skills.
The first events are taking place in London, but the intention is to give all members and member clubs access to the best quality training and development, with courses across the UK at regular intervals. The courses are subsidised to keep costs as low as possible.
Mike Williams, UKBJJA CEO, said: "as an Association, we want our member club coaches to set world standards in terms of the skills needed to run an effective BJJ school. We expect all our member clubs to have first aid training and safeguarding training as an absolute minimum - but also want to give our members quality, great value training in some of the other areas of development, such as refereeing and coaching skills. Thanks to our size and reach we can offer these courses much cheaper than you would find anywhere else"
