Information economy strategy - BIS call for views from SMEs

UKITA has been approached by BIS to approach our members to ascertain their views on the Government's information economy strategy. Please download the full document here for further information. A brief extract appears below:

The government intends to publish an information economy strategy this spring. To help develop the strategy, we are calling for views and evidence from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), both technology based and otherwise. This is one of several ways that we are communicating with a wide range of information economy industry suppliers and users.

The term ‘information economy’ is broadly defined and does not encompass a single sector. For the purposes of this strategy, the working description of the information economy is ‘the part of the economy where digital technologies and information combine to drive productivity and create new growth opportunities across the whole economy’.

We welcome your views and evidence by 15 March 2013, but earlier input would be appreciated.
