Bord Gais marks first product hat-trick for Contigo

UK IT Association member, Contigo, the Birmingham-based developer of specialist software for the energy industry is celebrating a landmark sales success. The company has secured the sale of its full enTrader suite of products – designed to enhance and streamline the essential trading of commodities while reducing risk – to Irish energy provider Bord Gais (BGE).

The sale marks the first purchase of all three components of the integrated suite, enTrader, enPrice and enVoy, by a company at the same time.

Jon Yeomans, director, Contigo, said: “The various elements of the enTrader suite are designed to work either independently or as an integrated product.  Therefore a company may take one or two of our products before deciding whether or not to buy the others, however this is the first time that a company has taken all three components at the same time which represents a significant landmark for Contigo.

“Contigo also provides valuable assistance to organisations like BGE in passing the Elexon accreditation which ensures they are accredited as quickly as possible which is a requirement for them to trade and supply electricity to the UK market.  We believe this is a key factor in companies selecting both enVoy as a product and Contigo as a collaboration partner”.

BGE has already implemented the enTrader and enVoy products, with enPrice set to undergo separate testing.

Andrew Bevan, Head of Portfolio Optimisation, BGE, said: “While Contigo’s products are built with customisation in mind, we will use enTrader and enVoy ‘off the shelf’.  We really like the way that Contigo works with a great understanding of the products and customer requirements and the team’s positive, collaborative approach to working with their clients.”

Contigo’s flagship enTrader product suite has been designed from the ground-up to provide a competitive edge in today’s complex energy markets.  With an emphasis on ease-of-use, ease-of-implementation and cost effectiveness, the enTrader products deliver the information and functionality needed across all trading business functions, providing a powerful and highly flexible solution to managing today’s complex and changing trading environments.

This marks the second time that Contigo has used its extensive industry expertise to assist a foreign power supplier in entering the UK market, having provided the same service to French energy producer CNR last year.
