Contigo expands enTrader product suite with Retail Portfolio Management module

Energy software developer Contigo, a member of the UK IT Association (UKITA), has expanded its flagship enTrader product suite with the launch of a new Retail Portfolio Management module.

This latest addition to the suite – which includes the enPrice, enTrader and enVoy products - provides the capabilities for both small and large-scale retail energy suppliers to manage their energy portfolio more effectively, by optimising trading activities for one or more commodities, such as electricity or natural gas.

Created by the Birmingham-based company for retail energy suppliers such as E.ON and RWE npower, enTrader Retail Portfolio Management includes a number of innovative functions, including sophisticated hedging strategies, automated trade generation and detailed reporting to ensure a smooth and reliable portfolio management process.

The system also maintains a real-time view of a company’s complete portfolio, enabling users to easily see the firm and non-firm positions, current demand and hedging effectiveness – all of which is available at the push of a button.

Jon Yeomans, Director, Contigo, said: “This latest addition to our suite of products allows retail energy suppliers to more effectively and accurately manage complex and changing demand. Users are able to generate visualisations of how the portfolio has changed over time by using the product’s built-in Snapshot capability, which can be hugely beneficial in terms of streamlining the reporting process.

“With in-built pricing and valuation tools, a flexible retail contract management system and automated trade generation, enTrader Retail Portfolio Management represents a clear step forward in the development of specialist ETRM/CTRM software for the retail energy industry.”

Contigo provides its products to a number of extremely high-profile clients, including Drax Power, Centrica and npower.  The enTrader Retail Portfolio Management product has already been adopted by existing Contigo customer E.ON, which is using it to support the activities of its Energy Retail function.

Contigo has had an outstanding year, securing a place on the prestigious Deloitte Fast 50 list of the UK’s fastest-growing companies alongside a number of new contract wins.  Contigo has also made a number of additions to its product base and recently recruited four new employees.
