Press release -

OCR seeking employer input on new IT qualification

Please take 5 minutes to help UKITA member OCR to ensure that their new IT qualification fits employers' requirements Complete the questionnaire OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations) have joined UKITA with the express intention to work with employers to ensure that today’s IT learners are taught a range of skills that are relevant and applicable for the IT sector.

We’re currently developing a new OCR Cambridge Progression Award/Certificate in core IT skills and your input, from an employer’s point of view, is an invaluable part of this process.

We’ve already launched the OCR Cambridge Progression Awards/Certificates in Maths and English and these have been designed to be simple and transparent – not only in their assessment approach, but also in concentrating directly on the skills and knowledge required for work and everyday life.  IT will be the next addition to the suite.

The new qualification will stand alone or provide an IT foundation which will enable learners to progress on to further learning that includes Functional Skills, other IT qualifications and training within employment or other learning programmes.

As this qualification will play such an important part in students’ learning, we’d greatly appreciate a few minutes of your time to complete the questionnaire.

Thank you
