Today it is a #happy day!! We, timtoers, are generally happy people but today we have an extra reason to be happy! Happiness, joy & flow is the topic that A Good Week, a project devoted to the global celebration of all the Good, taking place this week (18th-24th June), has discussed today.
Starting to think around the #happyday, our mind got suddenly filled with so many questions: ''What does happiness mean to you''? ''What makes you happy?'' ''How can you get happier?'' We all want to live happy lives but it seems that answering these questions is not always that simple..
Defined by Wikipedia, happiness is ''a mental or emotional state of well-being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy’’. Scientists, philosophers and psychologists have all undertook much effort researching the secret to people’s happiness.
Trying to come up with an answer to these questions, we came across a Happiness Action Pack developed by Action for Happiness, a movement for positive social change that tries to bring together people who want to create a happier society for everyone. The Happiness Action Pack includes 10 Keys to Happier Living based on a review of the latest scientific research relating to happiness. We were also happy to see that Giving to other people is one of the 10 keys to happiness! This matches perfectly with our ambition to bring a feelgood dimension to celebrating special occasions by enabling the celebrator to include a donation to a charity.
The pack also includes a series of simple actions that we can take in your everyday life all of which can make us happier. Obviously, people are different and there is not a general rule to happiness but research suggests these ten things consistently tend to have a positive impact on people's overall happiness and well-being.
Here is the link to the Happiness Action Pack.
Happy reading!!!! :)
