The Blue Islands service has been admired by world renowned chef, Michel Roux Senior who flew with the airline direct from Geneva to Jersey.
Mr Roux, who was visiting Jersey last week for an exclusive event at the Longueville Manor, expressed his thoughts on the locally based business when he met with Managing Director, Rob Veron.
"Blue Islands is a revolution. For me, seriously, it is the best airline I have ever flown with and I have flown with most of them. I suggest other airlines look at what they do, it's fresh. I will definitely use the airline whenever I can and I will certainly recommend it."
Mr Roux met with Mr Veron at the Longueville Manor to discuss his experience with Blue Islands and life in Geneva, where Mr Roux lives and Blue Islands fly to directly from Jersey. Mr Roux was impressed by the direct link as it saved him hours of unnecessary travel. The original travel plans were going to take him twelve hours to get from Geneva to Jersey. With the Blue Islands flight, the journey takes just two hours.
The chef, known as the godfather of British cuisine, is keen to visit Jersey again. "I am going to visit Jersey more often now I know there is a direct flight. I'd like to bring my wife Robyn in the summer."
Blue Islands Managing Director, Rob Veron is pleased Mr Roux enjoyed his experience with Blue Islands.
"I'm proud that Mr Roux not only chose to fly with Blue Islands, but of the wonderful comments he made about our service. I'm delighted that such a prestigious visitor to the island was able to reap the benefits of our direct link, which meant he could avoid twelve hours travelling through five airports and cut it down to just a two hour direct flight so he could enjoy more time in Jersey."
Mr. Veron continues,
"Our direct services to Switzerland were established to connect Jersey to key European destinations. The Blue Islands philosophy is to provide a unique welcome difference service which caters to the travel needs of local residents."
The alternative option for travel on that day was going to take twelve hours to get from Geneva to Jersey. This required a flight from Geneva to Paris, a second flight from Paris to London Heathrow, a transfer to London Gatwick and then a final flight to Jersey. In total this would have taken 12 hours to get to Jersey instead of just a couple of hours.
