Change of Non-Executive Director

International Power plc is pleased to announce that Isabelle Kocher has today been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the company.

Mrs. Kocher was nominated for appointment by the GDF SUEZ Group, in accordance with the relationship agreement between International Power and GDF SUEZ of October 2010, as a replacement for Gérard Lamarche, who resigned as a Non-Executive Director of the company today.

Mrs. Kocher has also today been appointed as a member of the Audit Committee, the Remuneration Committee and the Appointments Committee of the company, in place of Mr. Lamarche.

Mrs. Kocher is Executive Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer of GDF SUEZ. Previously, from 2007 to 2011, she was Executive Vice-President and then Managing Director of Lyonnaise des Eaux. Mrs Kocher joined the SUEZ Group in 2002, where she was in charge of strategic overview until 2007.

Mrs. Kocher has held Board directorships at AXA S.A. since March 2010 and Arkema S.A. since June 2010.

There is no other information required to be disclosed under rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
