Easter ‘eggstravaganza’ heralds new dawn for local family attraction

All Things Rural is the new owner of the Domestic Fowl Trust in Honeybourne and Easter will mark a significant stage in its exciting plans for the popular centre.
That’s because on the 5th April the farm park area will re-open its doors to visitors who can see for themselves the first steps being taken towards redeveloping the site into an exciting new family attraction, with an emphasis on wildlife education for younger children.
However, the company which is based near Alcester and supplies goods related to all aspects of rural life, is keen to point out that the Domestic Fowl Trust shop and website remain open for business as usual and will continue to be an integral part of the business.
The farm park re-opening is sure to be a fun filled event with lots of activities planned, including competitions, games, dressing up for children and scarecrow making, plus the unveiling of a new play area. There’ll also be an appearance by The Animal Man on the Saturday and Sunday with a range of exotic animals.
And of course it wouldn’t be Easter without the chance to also get up close to some lambs and chickens, as well as some ducks!
Nigel Ford from All Things Rural said “As a parent of two young children I know how important it is to find nearby places that are affordable, fun and educational.
“This is one of the reasons why we’ve taken on the business and with our farming background we really believe that we can provide a unique insight so that it’s a great success.”
All Things Rural is a family owned business, which combines its farming activities with grass and flower seed production and a feed business.
Also catering for the local farming community and animal owners, its shop sells animal feed, animal bedding, dog feed and horse supplements.
Nigel added: “The Domestic Fowl Trust has established a good reputation and is highly regarded by visitors. We aim to build on this and make it a major attraction in Worcestershire, particularly appealing to families and educational parties wanting a value for money, interesting and fun filled day out.”
"And whilst we plan to invest significantly at the Honeybourne site over the coming months, I would like to assure visitors that any improvement work will be very low key so as not to interfere with their enjoyment of the facilities.”
