Press Release
Premium Interisland service
blueislands.com
Jan 19, 2012 16:32 GMTIn response to customers' preferences, Blue Islands has removed Trislander aircrafts from their fleet on the route between Jersey and Guernsey. Now only the larger, quieter and more spacious Jetstream and ATR aircraft will be used.
This change will see the Blue Islands fleet of five Jetstream aircraft and two ATR aircraft operate the Blue Islands schedule. This year, the Blue Islands route network has grown significantly with the addition to the schedule of London City, Manchester, Bristol and Bournemouth. It also means that passengers can enjoy a more pleasant experience when travelling interisland. No longer will passengers be crammed into the noisy 14-seat aircraft - they can feel comfortable knowing that all Blue Islands flights between Jersey and Guernsey will be on the bigger quieter, twin-crewed turboprop aircraft.
Rob Veron, Managing Director, recognises the importance of listening to customers. 'It's important that we listen to the views of our passengers - many of whom travel inter-island with us a number of times a week. We want our passengers to feel comfortable and secure when flying with Blue Islands and now we can offer a premium product. No more earplugs or tipping the seats to squeeze everyone in, just spacious, comfortable flying. We also learnt from our passengers that they felt unhappy and concerned when flying with only one pilot, as is done by one of our interisland competitors. All Blue Islands flights are operated with twin crew.'
Daily flights between Jersey and Guernsey are available at blueislands.com and prices start from £37.50. All passengers who fly with Blue Islands can relax in the lounges in both Guernsey and Jersey with complimentary drinks and biscuits.
