The Islam Channel's John Rees is joined by Dr. Elena Martellozzo of Middx University - author of Online Child Sexual: Grooming, Policing and Child Protection in a Multi-media world; Ella Cockbain of the Dept of Security and Crime Science UCL who is researching complex group based child sexual exploitation including the internal trafficking of minors within the UK. The panel is completed by Imam Alyas Karmani - a psychologist and Youth worker and Director of STREET (Strategy to Reach, Educate and Empower Teenagers). Crucially the debate reveals the over simplification by most of the media in its coverage - the voices of experts including the specialist police officers have been drowned out. Imam Karmani says that the Pakistani community needs to send out the message that one case is one case too many and it is completely unacceptable. Unfortunately the media coverage has given oxygen to the far right forgetting that we must focus on the victims and the fact that this issue cuts across all sectors and classes of society
