Halve costs at half term with Virgin Trains

With half term just around the corner and families up and down the country looking for exciting days out, Virgin Trains is set to solve entertainment and cost worries in one fell swoop. Everyone travelling by train has access to hundreds of ‘two for one’ offers at some of the most popular UK attractions including leading wildlife zoos, Sea Life Centres, The Dungeons, Legoland and Madame Tussauds to name but a few. Families can also enjoy river cruises and West End shows, eat out at restaurants, visit Royal Palaces and major sports arenas as well as try out rides at top notch theme parks.

Virgin Trains can also reveal that Saturday 30th October is currently set to be the busiest day for train travel during this autumn half term; Manchester and Scotland will see the most visitors; but it is Scotland that has seen the biggest year on year rise of ticket sales with a 9% increase in the number of tickets sold to this destination.

Jim Rowe, Communications Manager at Virgin Trains, says: “Half term holidays are a great opportunity to get out of the house and take the kids on a day trip they will never forget. Whether it’s exploring historical landmarks, taking in a show or enjoying a meal out together the ‘two for one’ tickets are an ideal way of getting great value for a great day out!

“Already the tickets have been flying off the shelf like hotcakes. Families up and down the country have been benefiting from the vouchers and already hundreds of thousands have been downloaded. The London Eye has just been knocked off the top spot for the most popular attraction by Madame Tussauds but that can all change this half term – what will you pick?”

All you have to do to claim your two for one tickets is: book your train tickets; log on the URLhttp://www.virgintrains.co.uk/2FOR1/; click ‘Claim Offer’ and enter the details. It’s as easy as that!
