Bude mum is in the frame, after winning national photo contest from Joules and Vision Express

Press Release   •   Dec 02, 2015 12:34 GMT

A 34-year-old mother was “over the moon” to discover she had won a national competition – by posting a picture of her family enjoying the great outdoors.

Donna Johns, a kitchen assistant from Bude, won a £250 Joules gift card, a free eye test and a pair of stylish Joules frames.

The Facebook competition was launched by Vision Express to celebrate its second Joules eyewear collection launch earlier this year.

Mum-of-one Donna said: “It was a big surprise when I found out I had won the competition. I couldn’t believe it to start off with.

“I chose the Joules Beatrice frames because they’re a lovely shape and colour, and they’re perfect. I can’t wait to spend the gift card too.”

A customer at the Vision Express store on Belle Vue for the past 18 months, Donna was named the winner after uploading a photograph of her family enjoying the Cornish landscape.

Vision Express unveiled the follow up eyewear range from much-loved British lifestyle brand Joules, after the ‘blooming brilliant’ debut collection established itself as a best seller.

Vision Express Bude store manager Sharon Pritchard added: “It’s fantastic that one of our customers has won the competition. The Joules range is really popular and Donna looks great in her new frames.”

Inspired by the Great British outdoors, the collection delivers optical frames and sunglasses exclusively for women and 'Little Joule' girls – Vision Express is the only high street optical chain to stock it.

The 16 hand-crafted pieces feature bright colours alongside bold signature prints that promise to make wearers stand out from the crowd.

The range is priced from £60 for sunglasses and £149 optical for women, with the girls optical available at £131, or £40 with an NHS voucher.
