A seven year old eye cancer survivor from Hednesford was guest of honour at Vision Express Stafford on Saturday, as he helped the Guildhall Centre store commemorate its 20th anniversary.
Harrison Burden and mum Marie, joined the Stafford team, including store director Nicola Ratchford. Celebrations included a cake cutting and competition, where one lucky customer won a pair of frames.
Harrison is an ambassador for Vision Express’ nominated charity, the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT). He was diagnosed with a rare eye cancer called retinoblastoma as a baby. As part of his treatment, he had chemotherapy, then later had an eye removed.
Nicola Ratchford, store director at Vision Express Stafford, has been part of the Vision Express team for 25 years.
She said: “Our thanks go to Harrison and Marie for joining us on such a momentous day in our history.
