Alderney Performing Arts Festival 7

Event date 24 May 2019 – 27 May 2019

Location Alderney, Channel Islands

CUBA

Alderney’s 7th Performing Arts Festival 24th–27th May 2019 promises to be a particularly spectacularly colourful weekend of music and dancing – there’s something for everyone!

This year’s theme is Cuba, reflected in the Main and Fringe Event programmes and celebrated in historic venues (including private forts) around this beautiful, unspoilt island. The 2019 main events programme includes events that start with Havana Nights that will be bring the heat and passion of Havana to the similar faded glory of Chateau L’Etoc. Through a series of Salsa sessions before the festival the island will be ready to dance to live Cuban music usefully assisted by Mohitos in a semi tropical atmosphere! - At least visually - On the Saturday evening a Jazz Club style event with a sit down Cuban meal will be entertained by a jazz band who will then make space for further salsa dancing led by Cuban dancers. By contrast Sunday evening will be in St Anne’s Church for a classical concert performed by a vocalist and saxophonist with a Hispanic programme to conclude the weekends events.
